Meet Adia Battle, an enthusiastic and dedicated member of our team, currently pursuing a Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Maryland, School of Social Work. Expected to graduate in May 2027, Adia is passionate about enhancing mental health awareness, particularly among adolescents, inspired by their own experiences growing up and recognizing the importance of understanding and support.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), Adia has cultivated a strong foundation in mental health. Her journey in this field has allowed her to work extensively as a psychiatric counselor, residential rehabilitation specialist, and crisis supervisor, providing her with invaluable insights into working with diverse backgrounds.
Adia firmly believes in creating a safe space for adolescents, where they can truly be vulnerable and explore their emotions. Adia understands that processing trauma and experiencing emotions healthily is crucial for overall well-being. In sessions, Adia employs various forms of support, including talk therapy, art therapy, and mindfulness techniques, tailored to help clients work through their unique challenges.
Born and raised in Baltimore, Adia has moved around but has now settled back in the city with her partner. When not working, she cherishes a variety of hobbies, including traveling, exploring nature, and going on walks with their beloved dog, Leo. With an interest in creating art through plants and poetry, Adia brings a creative flair to their therapeutic approach.
At Anne Arundel Counseling, Adia is dedicated to fostering resilience and empowering each individual to navigate their mental health journeys. She looks forward to connecting with clients and supporting them in discovering their strength and voice.
