Mary Wittig, LCPC

Mary WittigMary Wittig is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with an MA in Forensic Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She has been working as a therapist with Anne Arundel Counseling since 2015, as well as having experience working in the prison system and mental health clinic settings.

Mary works with adult and teenage clients with a wide range of concerns and has specialized in working with issues related to military service, women’s health issues, neurodivergence (ADHD/autism), sexual dysfunction, and chronic disability, in addition to general life stressors. Her focus as a therapist is on exploring the interaction of how the body is meant to operate and how that may or may not interact well with societal and cultural expectations through an integrated approach that includes psychoeducation, CBT, and building of healthy coping skills. She believes that diagnoses are important for providing shared language and helping to normalize individuals’ experiences.

In her personal time, Mary enjoys gaming, both video and tabletop, and has found creative ways to integrate Dungeons and Dragons into therapy in the past. She also enjoys television, movies, reading, and has two cats and a dog that often joins telehealth sessions.
