Thomas P. Mee, LCSW-C is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 40 years of professional experience providing clinical and forensic services in a variety of clinical settings.
Mr. Mee retired from the State of Maryland in 2008 after 30 years of service, initially in the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and later with the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. He served as the Clinical Director of the Patuxent Institution Youthful Offender program from its inception in 1997 until 2008. This innovative program provided treatment services to youthful offenders under age 21 who were charged and convicted as adults.
Since his retirement from state service, he has worked in private practice in a variety of settings, including Anne Arundel Counseling. He is currently partially retired, and sees a limited number of clients via tele health. This includes mental/behavioral health clients as well as occasional forensic cases.
Mr. Mee also provided clinical and forensic services with the Special Offender’s Clinic at the University of Maryland, Baltimore until its closure in 2021. He has also done consulting work with the Office of the Public Defender’s Social Work Division as well as private attorneys, focusing on sentencing mitigation issues.
Mr. Mee’s treatment approach is eclectic and client based, focusing on strengths and needs. He believes that the therapeutic relationship is paramount before more focused interventions can be utilized effectively.
