Valerie Dillard is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor whose goal as a counselor is to work collaboratively with individuals on a journey of self-discovery, to find healthy ways to cope with life’s difficulties, and to heal and live life fully.
Valerie works with clients to explore and discover strengths, set goals, and build needed skills. Through developing coping ability, personal insight, effective problem solving and communication skills, as well as exploring personal strengths and challenges, and examining thinking and beliefs, she will work with clients to find solutions to challenges.
She works with ages 12 and up with the following concerns: anxiety issues, depression, mood disorders, effects of trauma including racial trauma, stress management, grief, self-esteem issues, self-exploration, adjusting to unanticipated challenges, life changes and transitions, women’s issues, coping skills, building resiliency, and adolescent stressors.
Valerie uses a collaborative, strengths-focused approach provided with compassion. She believes that meeting clients where they are without judgment and forming a mutually respectful partnership are the keys to healing, problem solving, and finding self-fulfillment. She is looking forward to experiences working with people of color, people in the military and adolescents.
